Naked Hungry Traveller

Privacy for Naked

Naked by name and privacy by nature. These are remarkably dull details but necessary none the less. Sigh.

Plain speaking

In the web we trust. Sort of. I don't blame people who refuse to trust the internet, think twice about sharing their details online or are deeply sceptical about the sense in giving all your life secrets to the carnivorous database behind Facebook.
But we're not Facebook. We don't actually know who you are, not even when you join the newsletter so we can send you emails every month. We have a vague idea of who our readers are, we watch eagerly to see if they like our stories when they go online and encourage everyone to share the joy with their friends. But we respect your privacy in deed and thought.

A bit more technical

Naked Hungry Traveller uses information collected during emails, web sessions and anything else that our geeks natter about in order to deliver better content and avoid serving up irrelevant insights. We let Google do clever things with advertising, we let Facebook connect you and your friends on our site and we rely on a lovely bunch of folks at Mailchimp to manage the newsletter as professionally as possible.
Here's the boring legal bit though. By using our site, signing to the mailing list, sharing your preferences and comments with us and Facebook you are accepting our privacy commitment. You agree to our terms of usage by using the site, and if you feel we have not earned your trust then best you surf on another website. But we hope you do feel the trust, hope there's a smile on your lips and look forward to sharing what we know in the world of travel.
The information we gather can be personal information you voluntarily supply when you subscribe, order, complete a survey, register for an online discussion, enter a contest or provide your e-mail address. It can also be in the form tracking information collected as you navigate through our sites.

What do we do with the information?

For example, we may want to know how long the average reader spends on our site, or which pages or features get the most attention.

  • We contract with other companies to provide services on our behalf, including credit-card and billing processing, shipping, e-mail distribution, list processing and analytics or promotions management.
  • Any information you disclose when posting to a message board, along with your message board screen name or ID, becomes public and may be used by Naked Hungry Traveller for online and offline promotional or commercial uses in any and all media.
